Safety

A location-sharing app can be misused. We would rather say so plainly and tell you what to do about it.

How to stop being located, right now

  1. Pause sharing — Settings → Sharing. Takes effect immediately.
  2. Leave the family — Family → your name → Leave. Their access ends at once.
  3. Revoke devices — Settings → Devices. Signs out any device you no longer control.
  4. Delete your history — Settings → Data & History.
  5. Delete your account — Settings → Delete Account.

Before you change anything

If you are worried about how someone may react, consider whether a sudden change is safe for you. Someone monitoring you may notice that sharing stopped. A domestic violence advocate can help you plan — the hotline above is free, confidential, and available 24/7.

Check who can see you

Settings → Privacy Dashboard lists every time someone viewed your location, and who. If you see a name you do not recognise, or activity you did not expect, that is worth acting on.

What the app will never do

If the app is not behaving this way, that is a serious bug and we want to know: security@kinmap.app.

Reporting misuse

You can report an account or a family from inside the app, or email support@kinmap.app. You do not need to stay in a family to make a report.
