What Kinmap is
Kinmap shares your location with family members you have chosen, while you have chosen to share it. It is a convenience and reassurance tool.
Acceptable use
You must not use Kinmap to:
- monitor anyone who has not knowingly agreed to share with you;
- pressure, coerce, or deceive someone into sharing their location;
- install or configure the app on a device belonging to someone else in order to track them;
- stalk, harass, or endanger anyone.
We will terminate accounts used this way. If someone is using Kinmap against you, see our safety page.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have a parent or guardian agree on your behalf.
Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed through Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting your Kinmap account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
Ending your use
You may stop at any time by deleting your account in the app. We may suspend an account that violates these terms, particularly the acceptable-use section.

Open questions for counsel
- Limitation of liability and disclaimer language, and its enforceability given the safety-adjacent use case.
- Governing law, venue, arbitration, and class-action waiver.
- Whether 13 is the right minimum age, whether self-attestation is an acceptable way to establish it, and how parental consent is captured for minors in a family.
- Whether the "not an emergency service" disclaimer is sufficient in each market.
- Apple's required EULA terms for App Store distribution.
